Our Earth Justice Ministry focuses on the seventh Unitarian Universalist principle: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. Our goal is to engage the congregation in the planning and execution of activities that promote spiritual growth through a connection with nature, and that lead to a sustainable lifestyle at worship, work, and home.
We received Green Sanctuary Certification from the Unitarian Universalist Association.
Building on our Green Sanctuary program, the Environmental Committee (precursor of the Earth Justice Ministry) created the Sustain Our Society (SOS) project.
The SOS project is an exciting project that includes:
- improving our historic building’s energy efficiency,
- the installation of photovoltaic (solar) panels, and
- creating a rich, supportive educational program to address the issues of energy resources and climate change.
